Sign Letter of Intent

On February 17th, 2020, Siam Seaplane Co., Ltd. of Thailand and Tropic Ocean Airways, LLC of USA signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to begin launching seaplane operations in the Kingdom of Thailand.

The two companies expressed their mutual intent to build sustainable seaplane operations in the Kingdom of Thailand that are designed to enhance air access and egress as well as interconnectivity for residents, businesses and visitors. Further, the seaplane service will enhance the current tourist offer and experience. Tropic Ocean Airways, founded in 2009, has been successfully providing first-class seaplane services in the US and the Caribbean, with the highest safety rating in the industry.

Both companies will share expertise and skills as well as collaborate where relevant with any other third parties in their mutual objectives. Additionally, Tropic Ocean Airways and Siam Seaplane acknowledge work beyond the core scope of leisure and transportation, to develop and execute a territory-wide maritime search and rescue (SAR) and a disaster management program to improve resilience and responsiveness.

Siam Seaplane will apply Tropic Ocean Airways’ existing amphibious airline business model, its US FAA approved training program and other existing resources to its operations, including its fleet of Textron’s Cessna Grand Caravan EX model aircraft with Wipaire floats. Tropic Ocean Airways will assist Siam Seaplane to enact regulations for amphibious aircraft water landings by sharing best practices, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and internal controls, to enable the Kingdom of Thailand to safely regulate amphibious aircraft movements.

Siam Seaplane Co., Ltd. is developing the first-of-its-kind seaplane service for Thailand. Its slogan is: “once in a lifetime, every time!”, aiming to offer faster, easier and seamless access to waterfront locations across Thailand, such as to resorts, marinas, and beaches. It is a premium service for any domestic or foreign holiday maker, group of friends and families, and the most exclusive VIP service for discerned executives and influential persons.
